PRO STYLING TIPS & TRICKS:
Our hair glitter will work on all hair colors, textures and styles! We use cosmetic grade glitter for all of our gel bases. The thicker shapes and characters are made out of a non-toxic, biodegradable clay. We take pride in creating glitter creations that are safe for ALL of our customers!
Here are some of our best styling tips and tricks:
For a dazzling look, apply hair glitter to hair that has been freshly styled. For the sleekest style, try dampening hair and using a styling cream to manage flyaways before applying.
When layering glitters to create a multi-dimensional sparkle, apply the darkest colored hair glitter first, and follow with the lighter color(s) or clay shapes to create a style that catches the light from every angle!
Here are some of our favorite styles to try out for inspiration:
Glitter Roots: Concentrate the glitter on your roots for a bold, eye-catching look. Pair with space buns to really highlight the glittery roots!
Glitter Part: Apply glitter along your hair part for a subtle yet striking effect. Try matching the glitter color to your outfit for a coordinated look!
Ombre Glitter: Blend glitter from the roots to the tips for a gradient effect. Use multiple shades of glitter to create a seamless ombre transition.
Glitter Braids: Add glitter to individual braids or braided sections for a sparkly surprise! Mix different sizes and colors of glitter for a unique, textured look.
Here's a few last pro tips:
If you notice slight tinting of the clay shapes from the gel base, especially after a longer period of time, apply the hair glitter as normal, and then dip a q-tip in rubbing alcohol and gently swipe across the top of the clay shapes to remove any excess dye.
If you're having trouble getting the larger clay shapes to stick, you can mix in a little extra clear gel to get a stronger hold. This also works if you decide you want to try a more subtle and less pigmented look. You can mix in some additional clear gel and spread out the glitter base a little bit more! We sell our clear gel base in 5g containers in the Add On section of our online store, but any clear hair gel or Aloe Vera gel will also work in a pinch!
We use a clear, water-based, alcohol-free hair gel.
Ingredients: Water/Aqua/Eau, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, PVP Glycerin, Amino-2-Methyl-1-Propanol, Sodium Hydrxymethylglycinate, Polysorbate 20, Tetrasodium EDTA
Removal is SO easy! We suggest brushing through hair first with a fine tooth comb to loosen and remove glitter. Follow with with your normal shampoo routine, and you'll be all ready for your next glitter creation!
Many of our customers love to use our glitter creations on their skin as well to add additional sparkle and shine! We make every attempt to use the gentlest products possible, and our base is a water-based, alcohol-free gel.
However, we strongly recommend doing a patch test first before using on your skin. We are not responsible for how you use/apply the product and any reactions that may potentially occur.
Our 10g jars typically provide between 4-8 uses and our 5g jars typically provide between 2-5 uses.
We pack as much glitter and glam into each jar as we can to give you the most dazzle for your dollar!
We also sell small containers of our clear gel base that you can mix in to your glitter creations if you prefer a less dramatic look and/or to get more applications out of each jar.
Our hair glitters are made to order and have a shelf life of ~12 months. Make sure to tighten the lids fully after use and store your glitters out of direct sunlight to keep them fresh for as long as possible!
It is not uncommon over time for some of the glitters/clay slices to bleed and tint the base gel, however, they are still fully usable and safe!
Our goal at Kennedy Rose Glitter Co. is to help all of our customers create a new and unique signature look!
To do so, we carefully curate and mix all of our glitter creations by hand and source as much of our glitter as we can from other small businesses.
We order small quantities of each style of glitter to make as many unique creations as possible, and sadly, once we run out of a particular glitter, that creation will be retired to make way for something new and fresh!
